Hey I have a 1mz 98 Camry with an auto trans and I want to swap it to a 5 speed. What trans would be the best trans to get and what all would j have to change out to do it as far as ecu and electrical?

 

you need a donor car or a half cut has to be a 1 mz 1998 manual gearbox set up

it will have all the things you need to complete the task without making lots of trips or trying to source bits and pieces


sell the unwanted scraps

a quick list of needs

flywheel /clutch /pressure plate
gearbox
master and slave cylinders / CV joints/ manual gearbox mount ?

shift stick/stick cables/ pedal box instrument panel/ center console
radiator

if you have cruze the cruz pedal switch

using the manual engine ecu saves guess work

possibly a manual starter motor ?
