92 Camry V6LE Check Engine - Code 55
Hi,
I did a quick search of the forums and didn't find anything specifically helpful for my situation. I have a 1992 Camry V6LE sedan that recently had its check engine light come on. I took the vehicle in for a diagnostic and it came out that Code 55 was causing. As I understand it, it has something to do with the knock sensor. What I don't understand is, does this mean the sensor is bad? Or does it mean that I am getting knock in my engine? A colleague of mine suggested using some fuel injection cleaner to see if that helped at all. What else can I do short of bringing it into a shop? I was quoted $1100 to replace the sensor - if there's no other way of fixing it, I'd just as soon get a new vehicle. Please help! Your insight is appreciated. Thanks! |
