Big white cloud of smoke... car dead??

Hello everyone

I was driving down the freeway on Mothers day when a big cloud of smoke came out the car behind me and the car turned off. I was not able to turn it back on. My stepdad came and tried to help, but long story short, my camry had to be towed back home...

I cant afford to take it to a mechanic so hopefully someone can just point me in the right direction or maybe knows a good video or guide. Ive been reading online and I think it could be the head gasket. I havent found a good video to follow along to though.

I have a bluedriver scanner and had some codes, could they be related? The codes are P0016, P0335, P0343, C1201, B2312

Im changing the VVT solenoid today to try to fix P0016

Does the engine appear to have any compression when turning it over?

If you think its a head gasket check the engines compression. Some auto parts stores loan or rent the tool to do this.

The P codes are related to cam/crank timing and crank/cam sensors issues. The crank and cam pulleys are linked by a timing chain. Remove valve cover and check for issues with the chain, chain tensioner and recheck for proper cam and crank pulley timing.
