charging system
 

I have a 2018 camry. This week it gave me an error "charging system malfunction" and car will not stay on. Can start it up but it idles high then it finally dies. It has happen before and I had the battery and alternator checked by autozone, all was ok. Last time it gave this error I was able to start car about 15min later.
If anyone can help it will greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is this a conventional car and or a hybrid?

What happens during the 15 minutes the car is not able to start but you are trying to start it? Does nothing happen, does the engine make clicking noises, are the instrument panel lights on, etc?

What happens after the engine idles high and then dies? Can the engine be started again, need to wait, etc?

Have you checked the battery cable terminals, cable connections to the terminals, etc?

How did Autozone check the battery and alternator? Did they load test the battery and alternator? Did they check for troublecodes including Toyota specific codes?

Low voltage and or electrical issues can cause idle issues and the engine to quit..
