Engine misfire
I have a 97 Camry with a V6 engine the engine light is on and it shows misfire on cylinder five . The car has an intermittent miss . I can drive the car on the highway for 50 Miles and the car will drive fine. If I drive around town and turn the car off to go into a store sometimes when I come out the car will miss and the engine light will start blinking I have to park the car for hours and then when I start up the car it drives fine again. any suggestions? I changed the spark plug and check the coil they seem good . Thanks

Blinking light is a severe misfire due to excess unburned fuel.
Does the engine have 3 ign coils or 1? Try checking for ODB codes. |
Engine misfire
It has three coils I switch the number five with the number four and then the code still came up A number five cylinder misfire. So the coils are good. Also I checked with the code reader and the code comes up P0305.

If your are sure the ign coil and ign wire are OK, check No 5 injector ohm resistance when engine is having issues. Normal is approx 14 ohms.
Might get freeze spray in a can. When the engine misfires, spray engine coolant sensor, MAF and injector to cool them down. Make sure EGR is off when engine starting and idle. |
