RE: more power
yo, i've been thinking about POWER lately so i have decided to try and put a SUPRA engine in it!!
-Iz that even possible?? -if it izn't ,what are some optional or better engines i could swap into it?? |
RE: more power
^^
You can go ahead and try to put a supra engine in. Theres a thread around here about some guy claiming he had a 2jz in his camry and lavallemike and I bashed him pretty hard. A supra engine wont fit. But a skyline engine will. You need to swap out the muffler bearing when you do the swap though. They go bad pretty quick because the egt's get too high for them to handle. And learn how to talk damnit. |
RE: more power
well my grammar iz fine...lol
i juss spell my wordz different.but nuthin hard to understand.. but thanx for ur help with the engine situation...its appreciated. so tha sr20det or tha RB25dett skyline engine??? do i need any extra fabrication to make it fit?? |
RE: more power
no i mean the RB26DETT? srry
|
RE: more power
wow the fact that you fell for that is astonishing. I guess a supra engine swap could be done but, it would proabaly cost a rediculous amount of money. Likely invole a boat load of cusotm frbrication. if you have that kind of money to put in your camry buy a ferarri.
|
RE: more power
No... it would work. No driveshaft tunnell, rear diff cutout. ect...
If you think you can fit either a 2JZ, RB26, RB25, SR20, VQ35, whatever in your camry, and make it drive without a tube chasis, then you shouldnt modify your car. And learn how to spell damnit. |
RE: more power
im juss tryN to get A LOT of power out of my money...and the only decission lies Between Which engine will fit the easiest and put out the best, i guess thats what im stuck on
|
RE: more power
Since you dont know how to use the search button.... I'll do it for you.
http://www.swegyptian.com/ Your getting to be a pretty good speller now, but there is room for improvement. |
RE: more power
An inline 6 is not going to fit in a transverse camry.
Put a v6 in it, or turbo what's on there. N/A mods are pointless on that engine. |
RE: more power
Well this iz the BS im workin with now!
4 BANGIN ! LOL so ur sayin the 4 cylinder or the V6 is pointless to try and mod? |
RE: more power
Damn you were doing so good with the spelling...
They are pointless unless you got the money (in my opinion). Its a camry for god sakes, they aren't sports cars. |
RE: more power
if you dont have 20 grand to put into your car dont bother starting... If you do have that kind of money buy, a car that is easier to work with for your mods. I can get a 240sx with and SR20DET for 16 grand....

RE: more power
my camry has rough idling its a '92' manual FWD 2.0L
|
RE: more power
my cousin is about to let her civic SI (5 speed, sunroof, etc.) go for around 5 G's. but its REALLY hard to sell a camry!!!

RE: more power
hmmmm........yeah you gotta sell the camry to old people! put it in the classifieds or something. selling it to your friends who like to race is pointless unless their mom or something is going to use it.
|
RE: more power
Hard to sell a camry???? Not if its in decent shape. but, judging by your post your the guy that tried to paint the interior and **** and then you wonder why you can't see it.

RE: more power
you have big dreams why use a supra engine... Use a 360 modena engine or something. if your going to go big GO BIG
|
RE: more power
a ferrari engine in a camry....wwwwwooooowwwwww well to see some different power out of your camry i suggest a 4-age engine. saw one on a site. its a 4-cyl twin cam base lines at 200HP

RE: more power
I guess u should sell it & buy another thing coz there is no meaning for a camry with a supra's or a skyline's engine .. what are u gonna call it later .... CAMSUPRA or CAMLINE !!!
where I live just point at a camry & say this car is for sell ... then its gone ... fopr thatI dont think that its hard to sell a camry ... if u gonna kep it thenI suggest that u go for a mody. Camry V6 engine. all the best :) |
RE: more power
Wow for the stupidest post in history this thing grew some legs.
|
RE: more power
he he he ... I guess so ;)

RE: more power
2jz-gte will cost $16,000 in labor. a place in florida will do it for you. theres a 2jz camry that ran a quarter in 6.5 seconds....
oh, and you'd need to convert to RWD. whoever said the rb26dett fits, you are stupid. it probably could, butitd in the same price range to put in as the 2jz. anyways. with a modded rb, you'd lose control so fast and just die. toss in a3sgte st205. 250 horses stock. they are kind of old though, so it will need rebuilding. if your going toput a bigger turbo on you bettersleeve it.the transmission from the 5spd manual v6 camry bolts up. |
RE: more power
well ive been doin some research and stillen has a few things for your camry
|
RE: more power
lol. Sell this car- take the money and down it on a better platform. This way you save urself from gettin' flamed any further than you already had.
