PLEASE HELP ME, IGNITION PROBLEM
 

I HAVE A 1993 CAMRY LE AND TODAY MY KEYDOESNT TURN THE IGNITION STARTER.SWITCH . IAM GOING TO BUY A NEW KEY AND TUMBLER FROM EBAY BUT WILL NEED INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO INSTALL. IS THIS EASY TO DO OR HAVE A MECHANIC DO THE JOB. PLEASE HELP. :( EMAIL AT MRMTABUSDRIVERYAHOO.COM OR HERE THANKS ALOT PEOPLE.

i dont know what the real problem is but the first thing i would do is spray wd40 in the ignition and work the key back and forward....if that doesn't work, get a new key from the dealer..ask them if they can cutyou a new key by code..they mit be able to do it by looking up your vin number...replacing an ignition lock cylinder that doesn't turn is hard...you will have to remove the drivers lower dash and steering colum cover..and drill out a lock pin located under the igntion lock housing...and that lock pin is a be-atch to drill out...so good luck

well, i dont know why, but i had that same problem before too. i dont know if the solution im about to give you is actualyl a solution, but i had a 94 with the same problem. all i did was jsut move the shifter around a little bit, and then turn the key a few times. it didnt really happen often so i wasnt too bothered with it, and i dont know if its all the time occurance for you. anyways, toyoboy is right, changing that ignition lock cylinder is a bitch.. good luck hoped i help in some way
