Pulley Recall and Timing Belt Failure

I have a 2005 Camry XLE V6 and had a timing belt failure at 65,000 miles. The shop says the water pump seized and caused the failure. New water pump and timing belt and we've been good since. At the time I chalked it up to bad luck.
Now I'm getting recall notices about adhesive on the crankshaft pulley being inadequate and possibly resulting in misalignment. Toyota | Customer FAQs for Toyota/Lexus Crankshaft Pulley Recall
Could these two things be related? Related enough I might legitimately seek reimbursement for the timing belt service? (Toyota did not do the work.)

No. The pump is powered by the timing belt gear not the crankshaft pulley. The gear is one piece and slides onto the crank snout, then the timing belt cover goes on and then the crank pulley.

Even if the two piece pulley were to come apart the inner driven section of the pulley is bolted to the crank snout and would stay put.

OK. Thanks. I might try anyway. ;)

Question about gear behind harmonic balancer pulley

I have read this thread & see comments about the gear being stuck. I'm simply changing timing belt today, have changed oil pump gasket before so been here before. My question is about noticing some play in the gear behind the harmonic balancer pulley. Is this normal after removing the pulley? Does torqing the Harmonic pulley tighten this gear back in place? Should I be concerned about this play in gear?

The timing belt drive gear has play?

The gear just slides onto the crank numb. Torquing the balancing/pulley will firmly hold the gear in place.
