Steam shoots from hose on coolant recovery tank

Hello!

I have a 92 camry 2.2 4 cyl engine. Lately I have been having an issue with steam and coolant shooting from the hose connected to the radiator reserve tank. It only does it after I have been driving for awhile. After it cools I have to add more coolant because it all ends up in the reserve tank It does not really overheat and the temp hand only moves if the hose actually pops off the reserve tank. Its really starting to drive me nuts...any ideas on what can cause this?

Check radiator cap.

A new radiator cap fixed that problem on my '94 V6. And don't by a cheapo cap. Get a Stant or genuine Toyota part.

Start with a cap. Toyota parts are the best.

Thanks all. I have another Camry that I don't drive so I swapped the radiator caps and it stopped most of the problem, but I have a suspicion that cap was needing replacing too. I had a hard time finding a toyota cap, so i'm going with the more expensive type that has a pressure release valve on top. I'll post an update on how that works out after a few days of driving it. Thanks all, really, I had people tell me things like the motor is gone or the heads are no good but I knew that could not have been the issue because it drives and runs like a new car!
