Transmission problem??

I am the proud new owner of a 2010 Camry, just took delivery 48 hr. ago. My concern is the transmission - although otherwise smooth as glass - has some strange downshifting patterns. Whenever I take my foot off the accelerator and the vehicle slows, there is a noticeable pullback at least at the lower gears (around 35 and again at 25 MPH). Then, at around 20 MPH you can feel it release and sort of resume normal speed. I have never owned a Toyota and this may be a peculiarity of the Camry transmission, but if it is a problem I need to have it adressed immediately. I would appreciate any help. Thanks...Alanzing

DO NOT TOUCH YOUR TRANSMISSION FLUID as this is a new vehicle. If you are concerned with it- bring it back to your dealership and have it inspected but do not attempt to address the concern yourself. Keep in mind that the throttle is now electronically controlled. This can have a completely feel than what your used to and my need a little getting used to.

transmission problem

I too just got a 2010 camry with the 6sp AT. I hate this damn thing, the transmission downshifts all over the place at town speeds, I can also feel it coming off the freeway. It feels like the brakes are on. I called the service manager and he said well we call that clutch breaking, it should help save money on break repair. What a crock of &*^%, brake pads are much cheaper than transmission repair. There is no mention of this in the brochure or my owners manual. Here is the part I really hate, crap mileage, best i ever got no wind on a flat road in kansas was 28 mpg, best in town is 20 only because I learned to shift to neutral. Was that guy making stuff up or did I get a lemon?

I also have a 2010 LE Auto. Mine does exactly as the OP says. This is the biggest reason I signed up for this forum, to see if anybody else noticed this. I took mine back to the dealer and was told the exact same thing that was told to the OP. I went to another dealer and found another 2010 Camery Auto, test drove it. It did exactly the same thing. I must assume it is charactoristic of the 6 sp. auto.
