Default Transmission problem or something else?

I have a 2010 camry 1300miles, after it's been parked and as i drive off, i hear a click when it disengages from first gear. It never happens when drving from a stop light or stop & go traffic. I posted my question on Yahoo Answers and someone mentioned that the dealer told him that it's from the ABS. Has anyone heard this before. Thanks.

It hard to tell by the description what is going on. Many shops offer free external diagnostics so take the car into one of these shops and they can offer a better opinion.

The ABS hydraulic unit does a self test at approx 6mph once after every key cycle. If you only hear it just that one time every time you 1st drive off after startup- that is your sound. After it does the self test- i will not run another self test until you shut the key off, restart the vehicle, then drive off. Nothing to worry about- this is a normal function.

I would suggest you take your car to the dealership the next time you have a concern. Now is a good time to establish a working relationship with a service adviser to address your needs and/or concerns. Especially with a new vehicle under warranty.
