Turbocharging a Camry 5S-FE is very feasible and has been done many times. Years ago a bolt-on turbo kit was being sold by a Toyota dealer.

The 1MZ-FE was a factory option and will drop in but you will need to change a lot of parts (all bolt-on parts). If going this route find a wrecked V6 donor car to pick off all the parts needed.

Would stay away from dropping in other engines such as the 2JZ. Too much money and time!

thanks. i dont think im going to stick to the 5s-fe since i wanted to also get a transmission swap. and since the engine is out might as well put in a new one =] but the 1mz seems pretty quick. i really want a rwd but i guess that's not going to be an option.

If you want rwd, suggest selling this car and picking up what you want. You will be dollars ahead!!
