01 Camry plugs and wires?
2 Attachment(s)
My 2001 Camry V6 with 55,000 original miles still has the original spark plugs and wires in it. I purchased 6 new plugs (Denso (3253) PK20TR11 Double Platinum Spark Plug) and will install these next week. These are what came with the car originally. Do you think I should also purchase these two items below and replace them as well? Thank you for the help.
1. Denso 671-6183 Spark Plug Wire Set Amazon.com: Denso 671-6183 Spark Plug Wire Set: Automotive 2. Denso 671-6250 Coil on Plug Boot Set Robot Check I pulled 1 plug and below is what it looked like. How bad would you say it is? Attachment 3922 Attachment 3923 |
These plugs can go 100K but are usual changed earlier for emission reasons.
You can replace the ign wires if you want but OEM should last a lot longer then 55K. |

If you've got the money, replace them. I do think that if those parts are original they should be replaced based on time. Another good reason to replace the plugs is that they will not get rusted in place. It sucks when you snap a plug in the cylinder head. The wires I would care less about.

You're very welcome for the reply and it is my pleasure to help out in any way I can.
I think that you and I are both in agreement on the plugs. They do look like they should after those miles so things look good there. |
