05 Solara left break light and highmounted stopped working
Hi all. My o5 Solara's left breaklight and highmounted breaklight stoppped working at the same time. I checked the fuse and the bulbs, they seem fine. Is there anything else I can check before going to service? Thanks

If the other brake light works the system has power.
Might be the wiring. |
Thanks Toyomoho
That's what I was thinking. Do you know if I, novice, can take a look at wiring?Liike any common spots to look at? Thanks again...

Only have info on the Camry, might be the same for Solara.
Power appears to go to the LH combo brake light first then RH, then the high mounted light(s). Thus if the RH is working, power should be getting to the LH. If you have a volt meter check for power at the non-working lights. If power is OK check for a bad ground or bad ground junction point (wires combine then run to ground). It appears both non-working bulbs share a common ground. Ground points may be: Front side of rear quarter panel wheel housing LH Lower back center panel of rear of trunk. Splice points appear to be inside rear of passenger compartment on the floor. Wire colors appear to be Green/White for power and White/Black for ground. |
thanx a bunch...
