07 Camry B1421/B1424

2007 Camry XLE V6

We're selling our 07 Camry and an interested party had their family member (a mechanic) inspect our vehicle at his shop. He did did a full code read and codes B1421 and B1424 were present. A clear and rescan was done and still appeared.
Is there a diagnostic tree for these codes (I can't find one for this car yet OL anywhere)? According to the buyer, who has now backed out, It seems like one of them may be associated with the solar sensor or possibly hinting at an AC clutch issue. Climate controls seem to function just fine for us, hot or cold, separate zones.

Any advice is welcome on how-to diagnose.

Both codes appear to link to the same issue and same possible causes.

Codes links to the A/C amplifier, NOT A/C clutch. The A/C amp electronically controls A/C operation. The clutch physically engages/disengages the A/C compressor shaft. compressor

If needing parts try Ebay first for used ones.

So there was no check engine light on before the sale but his special scanner tool located unseen codes. Just curious.

There are two types of codes.

One type is a standardized code that most any ODB scanner can read. If one of these codes is set, the check light should come on. This code and scanner system was mandated by the EPA.

The other type of code is a manufacturer (Toyota) specific codes. These codes require different software to read. Your codes are manufacturer codes. It can happen to have manufacturer codes but no ODB codes and as such no check light on.

The code reader the person used was able to read Toyota codes in addition to standard ODB codes. The reader is only special in that it has additional software to read Toyota codes.

Most every car maker has their own manufacturer codes such as Toyota, GM, BWM, Hyundia, Ford, etc. To read these codes requires a scanner to have the software to read the specific manufacturers code.

You can buy a scanner that has software for one manufacturer such as Toyota or all manufacturers (the cost is higher of course). Look for a scanner that can read Toyota codes in addition to OBD codes..
