07 Oil Change

hey, so i just got another oil change at a midas and after setting the price at 24.95, 5 minutes later they tell me i need to spend more for a different filter +5, and another 5 minutes later they say i need special synthetic oil so my total comes out to 37. this made me pretty mad with all this crap they added so i thought that the next time i change the oil for my 07 camry that i would try doing it myself.

i heard that some cars could be as simple as switching something but im not sure exactly what that meant. basically i am asking if anyone has any links to some how-to step by step change oils for 07 camry or if someone could possibly explain to me how to for future reference. thanks alot and much appreciated!

You should have a V6 or inline 4 cylinder.

I have 1993 camry and it has basic maintenance "how to" right in the owners manual. It covers oil change radiator flush and other items. check there first. There are other things that you will want tp check at oil change intervals like coolant and trans fluid all covered in the manual.

Hello,

I always reffer people to check out toyota's own website - especially the owners website.
http://www.toyotaownersonline.com/pa...rvice/diy.html

You can see toyota even offers their own DIY for you to change various things that they believe most car competent individuals can accomplish on their own.

Since you just got the oil changed you now have 3000 to 5000 miles to find someone who knows how to do the job and might take an hour to walk you through your first oil change. It is a simple process that my 17 yr old daughter can do but she has had my instruction. You can do it too with the right help. Check the sites mentioned above ordo a google search for "oil change diy" and you will get many hits with instructions. If you can find someone to guide you that will be even better. Good luck.

Check out this link. Some of the quick change places are run by honest folks but.....
