09 Camry alarm goes off very often
 

Hello all.
Bought 09 Camry new with alarm system installed couple years ago. Lately alarm system very sensitive. Even big truck drive by the alarm of my car goes off! is there any sensitivity adjustment or even if I could be able to disable it?

Most aftermarket alarms have a dial to adjust the shock sensor. Look under the dash, there may be a little black box with a dial on it. Just don't do what I did; while adjusting the sensitivity I was thumping on the windshield-I forgot about the small crack...well it became a big crack by the time I was done adjusting. :eek:

Thanks dabruce15 this is not after market alarm. It came installed when I purchased the car from Toyota dealer. I tried looking for it already but could not find the shock sensor.

The car have a glass breakage sensor? The alarm black box has a sensitivity adjustment screw.

Box may be behind the glove box.
