Unhappy 1990 Toyota Camry Issue

Hello Everyone,

I have 1990 Toyota Camry station wagon with just over 100k miles on it. Today I went to the gym (about 3 miles from my house) and the car ran fine. I left the gym, drove about 1500 feet when all of the warning lights came on simultaneously and the car stopped running. I pulled over tried to restart and it acts like it wants to turn over--but it can't. All of the electrical devices seem to be working fine--radio, power locks, windows etc... I have had the vehicle towed to my house and have tried to start it again since then with no luck. I wonder if anyone has any insight as to what the issue may be? the vehicle has been running fine up until today. There were no warning signs whatsoever.

Thanks in advance for any advice/assistance anyone may be able to provide.

-Scott

Can you clarify what the engine does? "Wants to turn over" as in the engine turns over but does not start, tries to start or does not turn over at all.

What engine model does the car have?

If the engine does turn over have you checked for spark from the coil wire leading to the distributor?

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

When I go to start the car, the starter seems to be working---but then nothing. The engine does not start at all. I just get the standard "rrr, rrr, rrr" sound.

The engine is the 2.5L V6.

I have not checked for spark.

Any suggestions again would be greatly appreciated.

Start by checking for ign spark at the coil.

Sometimes a fuse will blow, check all the fuses.
