I have a 1992 Camry V6.The AC Condenser needs to be replaced. How much of a job am I looking at?? Does the radiator have to be taken out to remove the Condenser, and replace it with a new one.??Haven't had a chance to see what I'm getting into. Can I get instructions on line about this repair?? Thanks for any, and all help.

 

To me that is a money maker. Not that tough of a job but be very clean when handling new parts especially the exspansion valve, I mean if you replace the condensor replace the expansion valve allso. Use new ac compressor oil on all new o-rings and don't reuse any!! Besure to replace the reciever dryer allso as if the system has been depleted of r-12 is will surly be saturated with moisture wich is very bad. Before you close the system up add about 2 ounces of r-12 compliant compressor oil or if you retrofited with the r-134 make sure it is the synthetic oil. Evac for about 20 minutes then charge system. Failure to not do what I have said will more than likly fail before the summer, good luck.

Yes and have been for 20 years maybe(cert), been a while. I do most of the A/c work at the shop. Likle I said ac work in a real money maker, anyone can do it just a few key things you have to remember.

A/C is always gravy work. At my shop we got evaporators down to like 2-3 hours when we tag team it. It is getting pretty warm out so the A/C problems should start rolling in pretty soon... I was 16 when I got my A/C cert. But that was only 2 years ago so I havent really had the time to really benefit from it. Are you a Toyota Tech by any chance??
