1995 Camry 4 Cyl

OKAY So have had an oil leak since I bought it finally replaced the O Ring in the distributor cab and valve cover gasket and sealed it in places with it still leaked for some reason. No the car is very hard to start after sitting for a while. I will turn the key and it will crank crank and crank notta! If I pop the hood and open the throttle twice and it will turn over then die, Then if I turn again while pressing the gas pedal it will turn over barley, Then when I rev it wont it will try then knock twice and rev up just fine, drive just fine be completely normal! But if it sits for a while like over night i have to go through the same process. Any help is much needed I am at wits end and don't want to shell out a grand plus at a mechanic.

In front as in on the firewall side?

Coolant temp sensors for computer and dash gauge. Plus a temp controlled vacuum switch.

Could it be Ignition Coil and or wires? When it dose the knock pop when turning over it sounds like it is coming from 1 and 4. I am not 100% sure though.

If there are 3 plugs in a row mounted on a coolant manifold then the sensors are as stated above.

Fix the plug, the may solve your problems.

If the engine ran OK before the distributor fix then this is the place to start looking.

A bad coil or plug wires can cause starting and operational issues.

Can you explain the knock pop?

Make sure you did not be accident remove the electrical plug from the IAC valve or throttle position sensor on the throttle body.

I will check all the plugs when I have my car later. The knock pop, Its so hard to describe like it will be trying to rev get real quite then pop, pop pop rev!!!!!! I don't think its so much as a knock as like a misfire possibly.

If pop, pop could be backfire.

Typically the engine lugs when given the gas, goes pop, pop then revs in response to the throttle.

The can be intake or exhaust system back fire.
