1996 Camry - Wiper Issues - Help!
Hi,
I'm new to this....
My wife's care 1996 Camry has some issues with the wipers and washer pump.
First, took the car thru the car wash and now the washer pump will not pump fluid at all. No noise from the pump that it's even trying. Tried new pump and still no go.
Second, a week later, the wipers came on and would not turn off for over an hour of driving. Parked the car and checked it the next day and they were off. Tried the wipes and they turn off and on ok for now, but the washer fluid still does not work.
Unrelated to the wipers.....the dome light keeps blowing bulbs but not the fuse.
Thanks!
Jim

Do you have a voltmeter? If so one leg of wiring going to the washer pump should be hot (12V) when the ign is on. This might be a blue wire.
The pump is activated by wiper/washer switch that eventually grounds the other wire of the pump motor circuit (there is an electronic timing circuit in between) to complete the circuit.
The wiper motor has its own ground wire. The wiper switch directs power to the correct wiper motor winding for high or low speed operation.
Could be a bad wiper/washer switch.
The Dome wiring is separate from this system.

Unless a strange car wash doubt it. Suppose someone could have reefed on the wiper arms but this should not effect the pump. The electronics are inside the wiper arm and thus should be free of water damage posibilities.
