1999 Camry door lock problem
 

Hi, need some help with my 99 camry. The internal door lock button on driver's side doesn't work. The unlock button works though. And the buttons on passenger side work fine. Swapped with a good control unit but the result is the same. Where could the problem lay under? Thanks.

Can you lock the doors with the key?

Yes, the key and remote are all able to lock the doors. Only that single button doesn't do. Nothing happens when it's pressed.

Suggest checking the wiring between the door and chassis. Often constant door usage will cause a wire to break.

The wire for the lock side of the non-working switch is Blue/White in color.

From what I can figure out the switches operate via a wireless door lock ECU. Thus instead of the switch powering the lock directly (it is on the same door), it needs to work via this ECU. The ECU is not in the door, the wiring would run between the door and chassis.

There may be more then one wire of the same color at the console. Check for open circuits, bad connections, etc.
