1999 camry v6/ starting issues

Turn the key the engine cranks but along hesitation before it catches?
I replaced the old connection terminals and took the battery in for testing. They tested the battery and said it was good.
This car has less than 55,000 miles on it!(mom used to drive it lol).

Could it still be the battery, starter or something else? Once the car is running it's fine. Just afraid to turn it off, fearing the car might not start back up.

Please help!! [&o]

I'm confused...are you saying the car cranks a long time before it starts? Where's the long hesitation?

Update: This morning the car would not crank , but my dash lights & radio came on /car would not start.

My guess is it is the starter!

^ The long hesitation was when the car would crank and the time it actually started.

Did the engine crank at normal speed, slower, barely turn over, etc.

Check battery voltage with engine running 1500 RPM. Should be around 14.3-15.1v if alternator is charging OK. Once the engine is off and the battery has sat for a few hours check the battery voltage engine off, should be around 12.6-12.8v if fully charged.

If output when charging is near battery voltage (12-13V) the Alt has a problem. If the battery voltage after sitting is around 12.2 or under 12V the battery is dead.

When the engine is running it the Alt or battery light off?

The engine didn't crank or turn over this morning. Prior to then, it would crank slower, barely turn over. The only time I tested the battery was yesterday when I drove over to my local auto parts store and took the battery out of the car and brought it into the store. At that time it read that my battery was good. It could have been charged from driving over there and it only sat 15 to 30 min. by the time I had it on the counter for testing.

When the engine was running, there were no warning lights on. (battery/Alt)

Did the test include a load test? This is where the an electrical load is placed on the battery.

Did you check both battery terminals and both ends? Do you have jumper cables and someone with a car. If so try jumping the battery, if the engine turns faster at startup the issue could be the battery.

The starter can also be dragging.

One issue to check is if the battery is being drained over night but something such as the trunk light that is not turning off.

Cool, That is about one of the only things toyotas need work on , every toyota/lexus I or a family member/ friendowned needed a starter replaced before 100k miles. I'm not complaining by any means though, just an observation . I had one "catch" into a start and kept cranking until it overheated and almost caught my engine bay on fire . lol
