Default 1999 rear speaker - How do I remove them?

I have a 1999 Camry.
Can someone list the steps I should follow to remove the speakers from the rear panel?

It looks like I have to remove the speaker covers but I am not able to do that.
I have looked from within the trunk but it is not very obvious how to remove them.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Yea don't try taking the speaker grills off cause you still won't be able to get to the screws to take the speakers out and the grills won't go back in. I'll try to list the steps as best as possible. First you have to take the back seat out, the part you sit on just pull it straigh up and it should pop right out, then the sides of the seat that don't fold down are bolted down take those bolts off and then slide them up and they will pop right out, then pop of the panels on the c pillar, I sugest using a panel popper but its not neccasary, then you have to unbolt the third brake light and then unscrew the rear deck and it should slide right out. Now you have complete access to your speakers. Every camry is a little diffrent but these steps should get you throught it. Hope this helps let us know if it works

This looks good and is similar to the answer I got under my posting titled "Seat belt won't retract - back left 1999"

Thank you very much for taking the time to write this up for me.

Yeah, it is sort of a pain to do . And even a bigger pain getting it all back in . I cant believe you have to take half the interior out to get to the speakers, lol .

It shouldn't take you to long to do. Just make sure you have the right tools to connect the wires to the new speakers. and also make sure you have enough power to power the new speakers or else they'll sound bad at high volume. I think a speaker with around 40 rms should sound good if you have it hooked up to an aftermarket radio
