2002 Camry. 12.8 volts on batt, wont start
 

I'm not electrically inclined so looking for advice. I get a clicking sound as if the battery is close to dead but registers 12.8volts on my voltmeter. Not sure how to test starting amps or if that is necessary. I don't believe its being drained while stationary due to volts remaining high. Is that the indicator?

12.8v would be OK.

Check battery cable terminals at battery for corrosion resulting in poor contact.

Do you have jumper cables? If so jump the battery per directions below:

If the engine does not turn over terminals are OK and all accessories and headlights seem to work OK could be the starter solenoid or battery cable going to it.

Joey knows his stuff, but 12.8V by itself is not enough to engage starter. it's cranking amps that do the job, and if battery does not output enough of them, Bendix will not engage and starter won't turn.
You may try old man trick and hit Bendix several times with hammer HANDLE, as in wood, and sometimes it pops it out and it engages. At least, then you know that it's starter.
Or, jump from a known good battery or running engine battery. If it works, then it's battery. Or rusted cables, or bad ground somewhere.

Exactly. Take the battery out and bring it to Advance auto, Autozone, and have them check the battery. Their tester puts a load on the battery and will check if it has the proper cranking amps. I had this exact problem with a boat many years back. Trying to jumpstart it didn't help either. In my case a new battery did the trick. As ukrkoz said, don't discount corrosion or bas cables.
