2003 Camry starting trouble but battery OK

I have a 2003 camry xle with 21000 miles. We haven't used it for a few weeks and tried to start it. The battery is ok since the clock, headlights are all working. The engine seems to crank but it does not start. Would like to know potential issues before I have to take it to the dealer or mechanic.

Do the engine crank over a normal speeds?

If possible check for ign spark when cranking.

Try giving the engine some gas pedal when cranking.

Check all fuses.

Yes - the engine cranksover atnormal speeds?

I have tried giving a lot of gas when cranking.

The AAA guy who came suggested that it might be flooding of the fuel filter. Any truth to that statement??

Can you see the ign spark if the hood is open??
Are the fuses in the box on the left hand side of the driver side??

Unless you pressed on the gas during starting the engine should not flood.

4 or 6 cylinder?

6 Cylinder

Does the car hae an immobilizer security system?

Have you checked all the fuses, including those behind the drivers side dish behind the ash try.

Remove the ign coils and spark plugs. Reinstall the plugs into the coils. Place the plug body next to a grounded portion of the frame, crank engine and check for ign spark at the plugs.

One of my friends who fixes cars came by and took a look at it and said that there was no fuel coming to the engine. He said that it might be a fuel pump problem. He called me today and asked me to check the fuses. Which fuse should I check and how do I know that the fuse had blown out? I hate to take it to a dealer and say 'My car wont start'. I feel like I am giving them a blank check.

My info is for a 2002.

IG2, EFI.

The fuel pump may be powered by a Close/Open relay controlled by the EFI relay. Both are in a box in the engine compartment.

The AutoZone website may have a wiring diagram.
