92 camry best components for optimum fuel mileage
 
hey guys im new here and have been searching around for the best components to eek out all the mileage possible from my 92 camry. with the v6 im averaging around 21mpg per tank but wanted to know what intake/plug/wire setups will get the best efficiency out of my little ride. thanks in advance!

add 5+ psi to your tire air pressure will buy you a bit of fuel economy - not huge, but probably more than all those put together.

In general, have never found a way to really improve a car's mpg enough to make effort worthwhile; should/could just choose a different car.
There is a mpg benefit in easing the way you drive, but you knew that.

All just my $.02.



But if you find something that really does makes a difference, promise to post it up with mpg data change please. Does mean that you have to keep track religiously.

In a '94 V-6 I achieved 33.4 mpg on open road by using cruise control and limiting to the speed to < 64mph. This was on two 600+ mile trips. Driving in moderate traffic in Los Angeles I am lucky to get 21 mpg.

At the highway speeds, what the previous poster said about tire inflation definitely effective.
