95 Camry 3.0 L v6 fuel inector cleaning
I would like to run a fuel injector cleaner through my fuel rail to the
injectors but there is nothing besides a banjo bolt for access. Went to the Toyota dealership and the parts manager told me they no longer make the tool to do this but the Service department would be happy to perform the service for me... Anyone have some advice here or some info on injector cleaning without removing both fuel rails and 6 injectors, which willl then need to be shipped out for cleaning, and leave me without wheels for a week. There has got to be a way. I'd still be happy to drill out a prefabbed banjo bolt but don't know what I'd hook up the injector cleaner to ? Regards, Kevin |
The Toyota method is to:
Disconnect the fuel pump. Splice a valve into the fuel system after the engine can fuel filter to allow connecting a can of pressurized fuel cleaner. Block off the injector rail return fuel line to the fuel tank. Open the valve to the cleaner. Start engine and operate until it dies. |
Thank You Joey...
Is there an aftermarket splicing kit or shall I head to the local autoparts store and pickup the fittings from Dorman products ( ie ). Kevin |
Toyota had their own equipment. You may have to make up your own.
