Default '95 Camry Overheats Once A Month

My '95 Camry 4cylinder started to overheat awhile ago and then again a couple of days ago after driving up hill for awhile. The coolant overflow was empty but the radiator was full. Filled the overflow and ran it again and the temp went up a little high. Let it cool overnight and ran it again and it's fine. It's been a couple of days now and it's still fine.

I'm thinking the thermostat is on its way out...what do you think?

My manual is in another state (long story) does anyone have details on switching out the thermostat? Been awhile since I've done one but recall it wasn't too complicated.

Thanks,
-Will

Look at your radiator cap first , I had a 92 model doing the same thing an the cap wasn't holding all the presure back .

If it is the 4 cylinder follow the lower radiator hose (after u drain the coolant) and it will lead right into the thermostat housing. There are 2 bolts and it comes off and the thermostat is right in there. Remember to replace the gasket too. Then fill you coolant back up make sure you get the air out of the system and you should be allset.
