If you were able to do the work to date, you can replace the fan motor. The fan motor is easy to remove, drops out the bottom of the housing.

Parts will also be cheaper!

1sttoyota sells genuine Toyota parts online at steep discounts. Visit their website at

www.1sttoyotaparts.com

Or by an aftermarket part.

Default Camry 1999 I4, blower motor?

I have been struggling to fix my dad's camry blower. I followed the advice and replace the resister and motor, but the issue remained.

High speed work perfectly, all other speeds sometimes works if turn to high speed first.

I measure the DC voltage from the blower connector, it showed 11.99 for all positions. It meant that the switch was not bad, so what is the issue? Please advice.

Thanks,

Bill

I recently bought my 99, and my brother fixed my issue with the blower only working on two speeds, but now it only blows on the vents, no defrost, no floor vents... Just the dash vents any suggestions?

Did the system work Ok prior to fixing the blower?

The system uses doors moved by small electric motors to route air. Defrost and floor vent doors must not be working and are closed.

The blower speed resistor unit may have been changed to fix the problem, this is what varies blower speed. The unit is located above the blower housing and installs from outside the air duct above the housing from thought the drivers side of duct. When installed, the resistor portion of the unit is positioned into the flow coming from the blower. You will only see the outside, not resistor unit.

The doors are controlled by electric motors. Perhaps the wiring harness plug to the motor(s) was disconnected.

Look up under the dash on drivers side of center air ducts and in glove compartment area for loose connections.
