Default 99 Camry intermitten starting problem.

1999 4 cylinder
240,000 miles
No check engine light
maintenance done as needed.
I know that since the problem is intermittent it is going to be more difficult to troubleshoot.
Sometimes when starting the car when the engine is warn it starts but then immediately stales. Then it starts up and runs fine.
what I'm looking for is a place to start to determent what might cause this. I'm good with internal combustion engines , their electronics and have lots of tools
If someone can point me in the direction of what I should be looking for that will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

So, no stall when engine cold?

Stalls at idle? Or when driving?

The Intake Air Valve controls idle speed. Read up the valve operation and cleaning. Use a cleaner that is SAFE for plastics as its plastic, and NOT carb cleaner or such.

Ive had this problem and i change the fuel filter, cleaned idle air control valve, cleaned EGR, looked for vacuum leak, and checked my anti theft while i was following my maintenance book trying to troubleshoot the problem. Something worked because it fixed it but its been so long i cant remember which one specifically worked..hope it helps spur an idea at least.
