Automatic Transmission Fluid instead of Power Steering Fluid??

My Power Steering Fluid was finished. I have wrongly used Automatic Transmission Fluid instead of Power Steering Fluid. Will this be a problem? Do I need to change?

Check the PS steering lid for type of fluid. Often Toyota used Dexron II or III (trans fluid) for the fluid. If Dexron II or III was specified make sure the type of ATF used can replace this fluid.

Thanks for your replies. But ATF and PSF looks like same. If the fuil does not match, do I need to change? Will there be any problem?

Read the bottle the ATF fluid came in, does it state it is compatible with Dexron II or III.

If concerned remove the fluid from the reservoir using a small low cost plastic hand pump, the kind used to pump gas out of the fuel tank. Or a modified turkey baster by installing a flexible tube. Drain and refill a number of times between running the engine and the majority of the old fluid will be removed.

Thanks you! The ATF is similar to PSF. So I am safe..

I've been trying to chime in a few times but of course our forum is buggy...haha

Powersteering fluid that is used in more recent toyotas (typically 2001+ is what i've seen) is actual power steering fluid which looks like clearish like fresh brake fluid.

But older toyotas simply used the ATF for power steering - IE, my 98 Camry.
