Battery light on 99 Camry 2.2

On my 1999 Camry, the battery light will stay on no matter what. The voltage at the battery is 14.4v at idle and 14.2v at 2000 rpm. Battery is brand new with a voltage of 12.6v. The car drives and runs fine otherwise, just the annoying battery light on.

How long has the battery light been on? Typically, the battery light comes on when the alternator isn't charging properly.

Have you try this new battery? This is my new car battery. The lithium-ion batteries used in electric and hybrid automobiles are secure, but do have some fire risk associated with them. However, brand new research may create a safer battery that creates a longer driving range by replacing liquid electrolytes with a solid form.

Read member Mike Draper recent posts about alt voltages how alt charge light works.

Hope this issue was solved. Mine is still there even after replacing the plug, and running a new wire all the way to the fuse (cannot recall which one atm. AM2?)

Out of ideas. Anybody else?
