Camry ’03 SE A/C Blower

Hi,

I’m new to the Camry Forums! I have a Camry ’03 SE with about 95k miles on it. The problem is with the A/C blower. When I turn the knob it doesn’t blow any air; I have hit the bottom of glove box two or more times to get it running. Would you guys say that I need to replace the blower motor or is there another part?

Also, the A/C light was blinking a few days ago too. I did Google search and found out that by replacing the cabin filter it resolves that issue (A/C light blinking). I did replace the cabin filer but the blower still gets stuck, till I hit/bang it.

Your comments & suggestions are appreciated. :)

Did replacing the cabin air filter fix the blinking AC light?

The blower motor is easy to replace. The AutoZone website has the information.

http://www.autozone.com/addVehicleId...00c1528019737e

Find the electrical connector the blower motor. With the blower turned on determine if the Blue wire has power. If so, the heater relay and fuse are OK.

If power at the Blue wire, ground the Black/White wire, this will bypass the blower control switches. If blower does not work, it has a problem.

For the above test leave the connector installed on the motor.

An alternate test is to unplug the connector. Apply +12V to the motor terminal the Blue wire connects to and -12V to the terminal the Black/White wire connects to.

Toyomoho,

Yes, replacing the cabin filter did fix the A/C light blinking.:D I’ll need to purchase a voltmeter to run your recommended test, thereafter I’ll post my results.[:-]

Replacing the cabin filter did minimize the A/C light flashing-blinking. I did another Google search and found that Toyota has a TSB for this known issue.[:'(] It applies to many other Toyotas that use the following A/C clutch relay part number 90987-02022:

Toyota Service Bulletin TSB EL011-05, part number 90987-02022. It is off-white in color. The service bulletin says to replace it with part number 90987-02028.
