Car wobbles when driving

Hey guys,

I have a 2000 Toyota Camry. Driving on the highway my steering wheel shakes a good bit when i go 50 or above. Also when slowing down from a high speed it wobbles like crazy and it feels like i am rolling over a bumps when slowing down. Any idea of what this can be?

Any difference in steering wheel shaking when applying the brake?

Suggest checking for a bent rim, damaged tire, bad tie rod end, worn suspension arm bushings, very bad wheel bearing, etc.

Raise one front wheel off the ground. Grab the tire at 3 and 9 o'clock and do a push pull to check for excess play. Compare drivers and passengers side play.

Suggest doing this ASAP.

Thanks man. It wobbles a slight bit more when slowing down. It feels like everytime the tire makes a complete rotation it hits a bump in the road when slowing down. When driving it shakes/vibrates pretty bad as well especially on the freeway. I didnt jack up my car yet but my rear driver side wheel has play in it significantly. When I look under the car, there is a bushing thats pretty much shot and i can move the tire back and forth a bit, thats how much play is in it. I have no idea what that part is but I will post a pic when I can.

Compare play in R/L rear suspension/tire.

That's the rear knuckle bushing. The "strut rod" attaches to this bushing.

Will need to find the bushing. It does not come with the strut rod.

The bushing presses into the knuckle.

Note there are also control arms which have control arm bushings. Don't want these bushings.

Rockauto.com sells something called a "knuckle bushing".

Note sure if this is your part, compare with what you have.
