CEL 2009 camry 105k miles
This is my first time posting here so I'm sorry if this issue has come up before or if I posted in the wrong section. Anyway my check engine light came on and after taking it to autozone it turned out the problem was with the catalytic converter. I have to make a 250 mile trip (and drive back the next day) for work and if I take the car to the shop it won't be done in time. Knowing why the CEL is on, would it be safe to drive it that far?

The issue is emissions that's why the check light system is there.
If the check light is on because of a bad converter it most likely needs replacing. More driving is not going change this. It's OK to drive as needed until your schedule can fit that of the shop doing repairs. |
