Changing the Valve cover gasket 95 Camry

Hi All,

I need to change it, but find it strange that the cover is bolted down with four bolts that go around the spark plugs. These bolts seem pretty large. I wonder what size wrench or socket would fit this? Or can I just use an adjustable cresent wrench? Any help or tips would be much appreciated.

I usually use an adjustable you'll find the bolts are really short.

If you do this yourself only snug the nuts down, they break easly.

"what size wrench or socket "

Think it is a 32mm but a 36 will work

Its a 30mm. Don't over torque them or you may crack the cover. Just tighten them down in steps until snug.

New to the site so I apologize for digging up an old post! I just purchased my first Camry (96 4 cylinder). What supplier/vendor does anyone recommend to order the valve cover gasket kit and how much does it typically cost? Thanks everyone.

It's not a kit, just a single rubber gasket. Buy from a dealer, I think about $20. Also use RTV sealant on sharp corners of gasket. Torque retaining nuts to 17 ft/lbs.
