Default Check engine light

I have a '96 camry and the rotor button came loose inside the cap and caused the catalytic converter to melt, took care of that but check engine light is still on erased codes and still comes back. Tried to retrieve codes by jumping T1 and E1 like the manual says but the check engine light stays on and does no blink to give me codes it just stays on. Any help I would appreciate, don't know if it could be one of the O2 sensors or not.

Default RE: Check engine light

96' Camrys and up requirer a code reader to analyze your computer. It connects to the Obd connector under the drivers side dash by the steering cloume.
