Clutch linkage 2007 CE

From the clutch pedal going through the firewall the rod appears to have lots of play and it makes a noise whenever the clutch is depressed. It looks like a bushing may have been there at one time that keeps the rod in place. Has anyone had an issue with this and if so is it an easy fix or is the part number or name listed somewhere. The sloppiness is apparent when depressing clutch pedal when looking at it from inside the drivers compartment. Any help or explanation is appreciated.

Play and sloppy as in how?

The rod extends from the clutch master cylinder piston. The fit up of the end of the rod to the piston is ball and socket allowing some rod axle movement.

The other end of the rod is connected to the pedal by a swivel allowing rotational movement. This end is threaded to allow adjusting the clutch engagement location with pedal. The rod has a lock nut to set the position. Is this nut still tight?

Clutch Linkage 2007 CE

Thanks for getting back to me. I am trying to attach a video showing the linkage where it enters clutch master cylinder and the plastic piece that is connected to the clutch pedal.
It appears that the plastic piece may have too much play as it swivels somewhat and looks as if it could use a washer or some sort of spacer to remove some looseness or maybe this is the way it is supposed to be but we now notice there is more noise when pressing the pedal especially first thing in morning when it has not been engaged in a while. The lock nut is tight and secure. Thanks for looking

I tried to upload .mov file but it was 162mb and it appears the max upload is 5 so it would not upload. Not sure how I can transmit that size file. Any suggestions?
Bill

Many people post the video to a third party storage site like Utube, then provide a link in that post here.
