Cooling fans
 

On my new (to me) 93 Camry I've changed all the hoses and thermostat etc.. I noticed the cooling fans don't turn on. So after jumper wires and relays they work I found the fan switch in the radiator. I unplugged it and now fans run all the time. I jumper wired the connector to make sure it's ok when I did so the fans shut off so I'm confident I need that switch. I can get the Oreilly one for $30 or one from toyota for $85. Thoughts on which way I should go?

Lol I only ask because on our Sienna there's a few things I noticed needed OEM toyota parts so I'll do that tonight.

Switched out the fan switch and did everything I could possibly think of to get the fans to turn on. Let it idle for a long time drove around some never heard or saw the fans switch on. The temp gauge never goews above halfway so I don't really feel as though I'm overheating still just don't want to be stuck in stop and go traffic with no fans. Any thoughts??

Switch is set to OPEN at around 197F.

If fans run when the harness is disconnected from switch, then the fan electrical system is OK. This leaves the switch.

Place old switch in heating water with thermometer. Use ohm meter or other electrical circuit to check for the switch OPENING at around 197F.
