Crankshaft Balancer

I have built many motors and this is the very first that I have actually ask for any help.

When I install the balancer it is like the crankshaft is hitting it and I am using 3 shims, 23,27 and 39.

I have completely rebuilt this engine with everything new so I do not understand what is going on.

when we got this someone had taken the shims out so I have no idea what was in it to begin with.

My next question is what if I left the balancer out and plugged the oil hole that feeds the balancer?

This thing has even made me want to pull my hair out....lol

I have even tried a balancer from a different 5sfe engine and get the same results.

I would appreciate any help offered.

Respectfully

Toyota has a procedure for doing this job then a chart to select the shims. See Private Message sent to you.

Some owners have removed the balancer to gain a little power, the engine seemed to run OK without it.

I have the manual and know the procedure this is not what I am asking.

I know how to do the procedure that has nothing to do with what I have asked. I have ask why the balancer would be hit by the crankshaft and number 2 what would happen if I left the balancer off and if you have not experience or done any of these please leave for someone who has.

Thanks

You ask for any help possible then get upset when someone offers it!

I was just getting ready to respond to you after talking to my neighbor, a Toyota mechanic. He knows what your problem is.

But, I will leave your questions for someone else to answer.

No I did not gte upset for your answer it is just it did not relate to the issue at hand, if you have info at hand I would greatly appreciate it.

I am a tech with over 25yrs of experoence and the crnkshft bearings is not the problem.

Thanks
