First probelm with my car, O2 Sensor Related One

I have a 99 V6 Camry wiht 110K miles on it and I have run into my first problem with it.

The check engine light came on wouldn't go off so I took it to toyota and they told me this was what the meter was saying is the problem. Oxygen sensor PO135 heater circuit B1Sl and the Traction light came on (this is with ABS). THey want anywhere from 900 - 2000 to fix it the oxygen sensor and the abs. Is this really the problem or am I just getting screwed?

Thanks for your help!

Get a second opinion. If you can find an independentgarage that specializes in Toyotas I would recommend that. The ABS may be just a bad wheel speed sensor. Price seems steep but what do I know, it's been many, many years since I had a dealer/garage work on my cars.

when the check engine light goes on...the vsc ecu will store a ecu malufution code(if forget what is was) and turn the vsc lights on....so chances are the check engine light and vsc light are related... po135 code is very comman on these vehicle...if i where you due to the milage of the vehicle i would just replace bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor...and if you have some extra cash replace the opposit side...o2 sensor signal start to weaken around 100k...there may still be a problem with the o2 sensor circuit, like the wire harness or ecu....but like i said ,due to the mileage of the vehiclei would sub and replace both o2 sensor...and clear all code and see if that fixes everything...

toyoboy, I assume VSC means vehicle stability control? Trying to learn. Are you saying that the MIL and VSC lights go on together, even with separate unrelated malfunctions?

yes. if the check engine light iscomes onit automaticaly sends and code tothe vsc ecu or stability control ecu for a ecu malfuntion code...but a vsc malfuntion code will not turn the check engine light on...
