Frot end noise

Hello,

I have a 99' Camry with 90,000 miles on it. It has developed a rattle from both sides of the front end. At first I suspected the struts but I wonder if there is some type of rubber busing that is bad. it especially rattles bad in cold weather and only in town on bumpy roads not on the highway.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sway bar endlinks and bushings. I am 100% sure.

Is there a way to tell if it is the sway bar end links and bushings? and how hard is it to replace?

Thanks

Doug S.

To test for sway bar endlinks and bushings... just go about 5 miles an hour, and turn the wheel right to left (1/4 - 1/2 a rotation) a few times as fast as you can so the car bucks from side to side. You should hear a knocking coming from the front tires. This will in turn verify that you need swaybar endlinks and bushings. They arent hard to replace.... at least for me because I do this all the time at work. Should be about 1.2-1.5 hours in labor at a toyota dealership, as for the price for parts... I dont know. A good tech will have the car done in about 30-45 min... dont get confused though, you'll still pay for 1.2-1.5 labor. If you want to do it yourself... you need access to a lift, air compressor, impact wrenches and air ratchets, aswell as repair manuals. And if is your first time, your gonna hurt your fingers... a lot .
