Gas Fill Up Problems!!!

Many times, actually, most of the time, when filling my Camry, I can't put the filler on "Automatic".
It clicks OFF a LOT and I end up holding the hose and spout at some weird angle to get it to fill!
This sucks, I can't even wash my windows until it's done filling!
Crap!
Does anyone on here have any ideas as what to look for to fix this?

Thanks in Advance!

You should try pulling the pump out just a little bit. The same exact thing happens to me on my 98 Lexus. What works for me is simply not inserting the pump too far into the filler neck, and then the automatic pumping works just fine. Also to note, I'm usually filling up the entire tank and not just a few gallons.

The issue could be EVAP vent to atmosphere is plugged.

When the gas tank is filled, air in the tank needs to exit. This air moves through the EVAP system to remove gas fumes then to the atmosphere.

Thanks, I'll probbaly crawl around under the rear of the car this weekend amd look for a pluuged up vent or kinked line. I live 21/2 miles up a nasty dirt road.....maybe that's all it is, pluged with mud!

The vent could be in the fuel tank fill area.

Find the canister and follow the larger size vent hose to the vent at the back of the car.

The line going to the front of the car eventually goes to the engines intake manifold.
