Default Has anyone here installed a repair crank sleeve?

I have a 95 Camry with the 2.2 and the oil seal keeps on leaking. I already replaced it with an OEM and National brand and still it leaks. I'm thinking there is a worn spot on the crank causing the seal to leak. There a repair crank sleeve available, but where does it get installed into? The snout of the harmonic balancer? Or inside were the crank seal goes into? Has anyone here installed a repair crank sleeve?

its a thin metal sleeve
to give the timing cover oil seal a new surface to run on

force it ,,hit too hard or start of crooked and the sleeve will be useless
a plastic hammer works ok for me

ebay kit suppliers picture

second picture
i prefer the kit that comes with the ring and application tool
i cant find a listing for the 95 2.2 camry

timing cover off

you emery paper the crank so its a smooth as you can get it
fit the ring by
gently and slowly taping it on in a circle onto the crank till thin edge is flush with crank end

job done

I also didn't see a listing for the 95 2.2 but aren't all the repair sleeves the same for the 2.2?

If I use the crank sleeve in the 2nd picture, will the stock crank seal fit?

it will... if you can find a supplier for the second kit to suit a 2.2

in my search
i didnt find a parts listing that said the second kit was compatible for the 2.2 the mitsubishi

it is my preferred kit for other makers engines

you would have to ask the suppliers for that type of kit
to see if they had that type of kit for the 2.2

other wise the kit in the first picture is your only option
