it has to be something simple
 

i have an 86 camry that was working just fine, 117000 miles, i decided to give it a tune up, put new plugs,wires, distro cap and rotor, pcv valve new batt and some octane booster (car was sitting for over six months) car ran fine for a few miles now it won't go anywhere in drive, car revs up fine in neutral but when it is in drive the RPM'S won't come up at all and will only drive about 5 miles an hour. i'm lost any help would be great thanks

Check compression, check fuel pressure.

Could be gunk in the gas tank that has been sucked in to the fuel filter. Some may be getting by (just enough for idle or 5mph) but when you step on it it can't keep up. Don't try to "blow it out" by stepping on the gas cause your killing your fuel pump.
The first test would be like Pedro said and check fuel pressure but also the volume of fuel.

You need to start with a compression test. I had this exact same thing happen to me, although my camry would die as soon as it was put into gear. In my case it turned out to be a blown head gasket. About 1/4 inch of head gasket was missing between the #1 and #2 cylinder. At first I did not suspect a blown head gasket because there was no water in the oil or visa versa. If the compression on all cylinders is ok, then I would suspect a fuel issue, but not until.
