HELP with built in Navigation Problem

Hi
I have a 2002 Toyota Camry XLE with a built in factory Navigation System. The CD (located in the trunk) is also the original that came with the vehicle. A few months ago it stopped working in the sense that it can't pinpoint my location. It thinks I'm in a different state from where I'm at (probably thousands of miles away!). It seems to be still functional, but completely off base to my location. Is that a problem with my CD, or my whole navigation system. I'm in the process of getting my car ready to sell, and would like to know whether the whole system is broken, or just a minor problem, which would be important for resell value. Thanks for any advise you can give.

Check the settings and make sure it is set to the correct region. For example.. if you are located in California, make sure that California is highlighted as one of the states in the search area.

still not working

tried that, its on the correct area, but still not reading the correct location of where i am. Is it the navigation CD/DVD needs to be replaced, or something wrong with the whole navigation unit?
