How can I increase my idle ?
 

I would like to increase my idle by 200 rpm on my 1995 2.2 Camry. Is that possible, if so how do I do it ? Thanks.

your idle control sensor might be faulty

is there too much slack on the throttle cable at the throttle body

What is the idle RPM now engine cold and hot?

There is no idle screw. The screw on the throttle body is to set the throttle plate clearance and is done at the factory.

Try cleaning the IAC valve.

I think the IAC valve was one of the things we replaced in January. The car runs good and seems to be OK as long as I'm not stopped with the AC on. It even seems to be OK if I'm stopped with the AC on if the car is not in gear. When the Toyota dealer was working on it I was told they bumped the idle up just a touch. This has been very frustrating to me and I hate to keep throwing money at a 21 year old car. My father bought this car new and left it to me when he passed away. If it wasn't for the sentimental value I probably would have got rid of it. After spending about $900.00 on it at the end of last winter I was pretty aggravated. I will update if I get anything figured out. Thanks.

I don't have an answer, exactly, but a guy I hired to work on my '95 Camry (2.2, auto) last November and he did something to the TPS which seemed to help for awhile. I know he didn't use any tools to do it but it worked and was good for a couple hundred RPM. I have read that not much can be done about low idle but obviously something can, I just don't know what it is. I'd appreciate a heads up if you find anything because that's one of my symptoms. Thanks in advance and good luck.

Update: I took my car into the dealer and they turned up the idle. The tech that has done all the work on my car really feels like the injectors are the problem. That would be very expensive to have them replaced. At this point I think I will just run a can of Sea-foam about every other tank.
