jack pad position
Where are the jack pads on a 2000 Camry. I have a 3 ton floor jack and I want to be sure to lift it in the correct place as not to damage any thing Thanks John

RE: jack pad position
you can always put it where the oem jack location notches are.
otherwise you can jack it up in in the front near the radiator support area where there is a somewhat square piece that juts down from a cross beam that typically fits right into the floor jack's mount and you can lift the front up like that. the rear...i'm not so sure. |
RE: jack pad position
I wouldn't use a flat jack pad on the four point OEM jack points under the body. You will bend the tabs so that use of the OEM jack will be difficult and unsafe. If you use thefour point jackingtabs use a piece of wood notched to fit over thetabs and lift at the body like the OEM jack does. I would only use the OEM 2 wheel jack points if you have a rolling style jack that will adjust for lift angle and has no risk of the jack falling out from under the car. There is a similar bump-out in therear as the onenodrogkam describes for the front. You should always use wheel chocks.
