maint reqd

I have a 07 Camry V6. Changed the oil and filter at 4k mi. When the odometer went to 5K the "maint reqd" light came on. I check the owners manual for additional maintenance, and there is none.

How do I get the light to go off?

Where can I get a 07 shop manual (ex Haynes)?

Very happy with the car.

Thanks.

1 turn ignition to on
2. make sure odometer is set on total mileage, not trip A or B
3. turn ignition off
4. hold trip odometer reset button and turn key to on position
5 light will blink and go off
6 thats it, till next 5000 miles

your manual should tell you how to reset it. Look for Maintenance in the index.

I've found it in three toyotas and one acura (manuals).

Tried geokor's procedure on my 2007 Camry XLE without success. Tried the following procedure (one minor change to geokor's) and it worked. This procedure can be found on page 145 of the 2007 Owner's Manual. My 07 has the Multi-Information Display.

1. Turn off the engine with the Trip Meter A reading shown. (Not the Total Mileage reading)
2. Set the ignition switch to the ON position while holding down the trip meter reset knob. (Do not Start the engine) The message "OIL MILEAGE RESET MODE" will appear on the display. (Note: If you have a keyless ignition, press the start button twice with your foot off the brake to put the car into the ON position)
3. Hold down the knob at least 5 sec. The message "COMPLETE" will appear and the "OIL MESSAGE RESET" goes off.

Thanks for the clarification. Some models differ. I just hoped the technique i used was enough for bosulli. The forum should set up a maintenane reset catagory, and every one that has a different technique for specific toyota models and years can post them. What do you guys think?

As a first step, you could post it to the DIY forum. I think it's empty at present.

I just joined this forum after purchasing our '05 a month ago. This was the first question I needed answer for. I'll be trying out the suggestions here tonight.

Thanks!

The actual process was a little different. I found how in the 07 owners manual in the chapter regarding the display.

FYI: geokor's method worked on our '05.
